The Bridgeland High School girls’ cross country team placed second overall as a team at the UIL Cross Country State Championships on Nov. 1 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Nov. 4, 2024—The Bridgeland High School girls’ and boys’ cross country teams, along with Cypress Creek High School junior Joaquin Miranda, competed at the UIL Cross Country State Championships on Nov. 1 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
The Bridgeland girls placed second overall at the state championship meet with an overall score of 81 points. Senior Lily Fawcett led the way, finishing second overall (17:32.10).
The Bridgeland High School boys’ cross country team placed third overall as a team at the UIL Cross Country State Championships on Nov. 1 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Also running for the Bears were junior Rowan Saacke (8th, 18:03.40), junior Susana Rawls (14th, 18:21.10), junior Haley Hill (48th, 19:03.10), junior Alexandra Montgomery (68th, 19:16.50), sophomore Kate Garrison (76th, 19:26.90) and sophomore Brynlee Weston (106th, 20:16.40).
The Bridgeland boys placed third overall with an overall score of 84 points. Senior Benjamin Montgomery led the way finishing second overall (15:01.80).

Also helping Bridgeland to the finish were junior Griffen Saacke (22nd, 15:41.00), junior Maddox McCallister (25th, 15:43.70), junior Layton Carlisle (41st, 15:55.20), senior Tyler Weston (60th, (16:08.00), junior Kyle Pawlak (91st, 16:31.10) and junior Braden Greenaway (103rd, 16:39.80).
Miranda represented Cypress Creek as an individual runner and placed 67th overall with a time of 16:12.10.
