The Bridgeland High School marching band competed at the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championships on Nov. 11 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Bears advanced to the Finals Round and will perform at 3:15 p.m. on Nov 12. The 2024 state contest is fifth consecutive trip for the program.
Nov. 11, 2024—The Bridgeland High School marching band advanced to the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championship Finals Round after preliminary competition on Nov. 11 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Bridgeland, along with Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high schools, gave CFISD three state participants for the fourth consecutive year.
Bridgeland will perform its show, “Grace in Symmetry” at 3:15 p.m. on Nov. 12.
The Cy-Fair High School marching band competed at the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championships on Nov. 11 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The state appearance is the third straight and eighth overall for the Bobcats.
“Congratulations go out to Bridgeland for advancing from the preliminary round to the finals round,” said John Morrison, CFISD director of fine arts. “We are thrilled for our Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high school band programs. Such fantastic performances today in the preliminaries of the UIL State Marching Band Contest by these fine programs.”
The Cypress Woods High School marching band was among three CFISD ensembles to advance to the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championships on Nov. 12 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The state appearance is the fifth consecutive for the Wildcats.
The Bridgeland, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods marching bands advanced and competed at the state contest after placing among the top four at the UIL Area I Marching Band Contest on Nov. 2 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. The 2024 state contest marks the fifth consecutive state bid for both Bridgeland and Cypress Woods and the sixth overall appearance for the Cypress Woods program.
Cy-Fair advanced to state for the eighth time in program history and third consecutive year.
