Cy Springs, Cy Falls win girls’ basketball titles; six teams enter playoffs

Feb. 10, 2025—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A girls’ basketball seasons ended on Feb. 6, with six CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs.

Cypress Springs High School claimed the District 16-6A championship for the third consecutive year. The Panthers posted a perfect 14-0 district record to be named the outright district champion.

Cypress Ranch High School finished the season with a 12-2 district record and both Bridgeland High School and Cypress Lakes High School both finished with an 8-3 district record.

The Cypress Falls High School girls’ basketball team won the District 17-6A championship title and will enter the UIL playoffs against Houston Lamar at 7 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Cypress Woods High School.

The Cypress Falls High School girls’ basketball team won the District 17-6A championship title and will enter the UIL playoffs against Houston Lamar at 7 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Cypress Woods High School.

In 17-6A, Cypress Falls High School claimed the district championship finishing the season with a 13-1 district record. Spring ISD’s Stratford High School and Memorial High School claimed the second and third seeds with a 12-2 and 10-4 record, respectively. Jersey Village High School finished the season as District 17-6A’s fourth seed with an 8-6 record.

Cypress Springs, Cypress Ranch, Bridgeland and Cypress Lakes will enter the UIL Region II-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

·       Cypress Springs will face Tomball Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road);

·       Cypress Ranch will play Klein Oak at 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Cypress Ridge High School (7900 Eldridge Parkway);

·       Bridgeland will face Klein at 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road); and

·       Cypress Lakes will meet Klein Collins at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Waller Gymnasium (31213 Waller Spring Creek Road).

 

Cypress Falls and Jersey Village will enter the UIL Region III-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

·       Cypress Falls will face Houston Lamar at 7 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd.); and

·       Jersey Village will meet Houston Bellaire at 6:30 p.m. at Bellaire High School (5100 Maple Street).

 

Tickets are $5 each for adults and students. Tickets for Cypress Springs, Cypress Ranch and Bridgeland can be purchased online. Tickets for Cypress Lakes will be sold through Waller ISD.

Tickets for Cypress Falls and Jersey Village will be sold through Houston ISD.
