Feb. 11, 2025—Cypress-Fairbanks ISD recently renewed its CoSN Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal, making CFISD one of eight school districts across the state to earn the prestigious designation.
The CoSN TLE Seal is the nation’s only privacy framework designed specifically for school systems. The TLE program helps schools and districts build strong, effective privacy programs and a culture of trust and transparency. Earning the TLE Seal is a mark of distinction, signaling that a district has taken strong, measurable steps to help protect the privacy of student data.
“Earning the Trusted Learning Environment Seal is a testament to our district’s unwavering commitment to protecting student data and ensuring a secure digital learning environment,” said Charles Franklin, assistant superintendent of technology services. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our technology team, educators and leadership in upholding the highest standards of data privacy and security.”
In addition to being one of eight districts across the state to earn the seal, CFISD is one of 29 districts across the country to hold the distinction. CFISD first earned the TLE seal in 2018 and has successfully recertified every two years as required by the program. The new seal is valid through January 2027.
The TLE Seal Program was developed by CoSN in collaboration with a diverse group of 28 school system leaders nationwide and with support from AASA, The School Superintendents Association, the Association of School Business Officials International and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
