Dec. 4, 2024—The Cypress Woods High School Wind Ensemble has been selected to perform at the 78th annual Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic, slated for Dec. 18-21 in Chicago.
The prestigious clinic, held annually in Chicago, is the world’s largest music convention, bringing together musicians, directors, conductors and music educators. Student performers and ensembles must complete a meticulous application process, including submitting recordings, videos, letters of recommendations and a résumé. The Cypress Woods Wind Ensemble is one of six high school concert bands selected to perform at this year’s clinic, and is also the ninth CFISD music ensemble to perform at the Midwest Clinic since 2000.
“We are so thrilled to be performing at the 78th Midwest Clinic and cannot wait to show off all the amazing work that our wind ensemble students have been putting in since July,” said T.J. Peterman, Cypress Woods head band director. “It is an honor to be invited and we look forward to representing our community and school district later this month. We are beyond grateful to work with amazing students every day and to be surrounded by parents, staff, private instructors and administrators who continue to support our program and help provide life-changing opportunities for our students. Please consider supporting the Cypress Woods Wind Ensemble at their official send-off concert.”
