Boys’ basketball teams qualify for 2024 playoffs

The Cypress Falls High School boys’ basketball team clinched the District 16-6A title with a 12-2 record, and will face Tomball in the bi-district playoffs. 

Feb. 19, 2024—The District 16-6A and 17-6A boys’ basketball seasons concluded on Feb. 13, with seven teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs.

Cypress Falls High School won the District 16-6A championship with a 12-2 record, followed by Langham Creek High School (9-5), Cypress Ranch High School (9-5) and Cypress Springs High School (9-5), who will be seeded second through fourth, respectively.

The Cy-Fair High School boys’ basketball team clinched the District 17-6A championship with a 13-1 record, and will face Houston Heights in the bi-district playoffs. 

In District 17-6A, Cy-Fair High School clinched the title with a 13-1 record, followed by runner-up Stratford, third place Cypress Creek High School (10-4) and fourth place Jersey Village High School (8-6).

Cypress Falls, Langham Creek, Cypress Ranch and Cypress Springs enter the UIL Region II-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  • Cypress Falls vs. Tomball – Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at Klein Collins High School (20811 Ella Blvd.);
  • Langham Creek vs. Klein Oak – Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at Klein High School (16715 Stuebner Airline Road);
  • Cypress Ranch vs. Tomball Memorial – Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at Cypress Park High School (7425 Westgreen Blvd.); and
  • Cypress Springs vs. Klein Oak – Monday, Feb. 19 at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd.).

Cy-Fair, Cypress Creek and Jersey Village enter the UIL Region III-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  • Cy-Fair vs. Houston Heights – Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. at Delmar Fieldhouse (2020 Mangum Road);
  • Cypress Creek vs. Lamar – Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Delmar Fieldhouse; and
  • Jersey Village vs. Bellaire – Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. at Delmar Fieldhouse.

Tickets are $5 each for adults and students. Tickets for Cypress Falls, Cypress Ranch and Cypress Springs are sold online. Tickets for Langham Creek are provided by Klein ISD, and tickets for Cy-Fair, Cypress Creek and Jersey Village will be sold online through Houston ISD.
