April 29, 2024—Stacie Everson, principal at Birkes Elementary School, was named the principal at Salyards Middle School on April 29. Everson replaces Liz Wood, who will retire in June.
Everson has 25 years of experience in education, all in CFISD. She began her career as a sixth and seventh grade math teacher at Arnold Middle School, where she taught for three years. She then was named academic achievement specialist at Arnold before being named director of instruction at Cook Middle School in 2001. Everson then became an assistant principal at Goodson Middle School in 2006, serving for three years. She was named assistant principal at Moore Elementary School in 2009 and was named to her current position as principal at Birkes in 2015.
Everson has served as a principal mentor and a cluster leader, and has completed the CFISD Leadership Academy in addition to other professional trainings.
