CFISD names new principal for the Brautigam Center

May 8, 2024Craig Pliskin, assistant principal at Cypress Park High School, was named the new principal at the Brautigam Center on May 8. Pliskin replaces Martha Strother, who will retire at the end of the school year.

Pliskin is completing his 17th year in education. His career began in CFISD in 2007 as a classroom teacher at Kahla Middle School. He moved into administration in 2012 as a dean of students in Houston ISD. He returned to CFISD in 2020 as an assistant principal at Watkins Middle School, and later became assistant principal at Cypress Park.

Pliskin earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Washington University St. Louis. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Rice University and Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler.

“I am incredibly excited to have been selected to lead the Brautigam Center,” Pliskin said. “I look forward to furthering our relationships with high schools across the district and deepening community partnerships. Together we will carry on the LBC tradition of serving as a beacon of hope to students throughout the district and doing whatever it takes to meet our students’ needs.”
