Cy-Fair HS junior earns two medals at UIL State swim meet
Cy-Fair High School junior Sofia Luper earned two top-three finishes at the UIL Swimming and Diving Class 6A State Meet, held Feb. 23-24 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin. Luper placed second in the 100-yard freestyle and third in the 200-yard individual medley.
March 1, 2024—One CFISD swimmer placed in the top three, and 12 others placed in the top 25 at the UIL Swimming and Diving Class 6A State Meet, held Feb. 23-24 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.

Cy-Fair High School junior Sofia Luper led CFISD swimmers by earning two state medals. Luper placed second overall in the 100-yard freestyle (50.04) and third overall in the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.30).
Cypress Creek High School senior Makynna Smith, center, placed 14 overall in the 100-yard butterfly at the UIL Swimming and Diving Class 6A State Meet, held Feb. 23-24 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.
Luper’s two top-three finishes helped the Cy-Fair High School girls’ team placed sixth overall. The Bobcats were the Region V-6A champions.
