Instructor Staff. AFJROTC instructors are retired Air Force commissioned and noncommissioned officers (NCOs). The Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) is typically a commissioned officer and senior instructor. The SNCO/NCO is employed as an Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) who reports directly to the SASI. They manage and administer the AFJROTC program. Their major task is to co-teach Aerospace Science and/or Leadership Education curriculum. Normally the SASI has earned a Master’s Degree and ASI a Bachelor’s Degree. Both are certified for their positions by the U.S. Air Force and Texas Education Agency
